Code Board on Temple TV
Meetings of the Municipal Code Enforcement Board are shown live on Temple Terrace TV the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. A rebroadcast of meetings is shown each Monday at 2:00 pm. Temple Terrace TV airs on Bright House Networks (Channel 641) and Verizon (Channel 39).
The Municipal Code Enforcement Board hears cases involving violations of the City Code, issues orders for compliance, and has the authority to levy fines, subpoena witnesses, authorize liens, and foreclose on said liens. In effect, the board replaces the municipal court system which was abolished several years ago, and provides a mechanism for compliance with the technical codes of the City in a timely manner.
The Municipal Code Enforcement board is a seven-member board. The term of office is three years and no member serves more than three consecutive three-year terms.
The board meets at 6:30 pm, the second Wednesday of each month, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Four members constitute a quorum and all official actions of the board require an affirmative vote thereon by no less than four members.
