Cheri S. Donohue was elected to the Temple Terrace City Council on Nov. 4, 2014. Ms. Donohue grew up in Tampa, graduating from Tampa Catholic High School, and has lived in Temple Terrace with her husband, Mike, since 1976. Ms. Donohue has a long history of service to the community. Among her many accolades and awards, she was named Temple Terrace’s “Citizen of the Year” in 1990 and best regional Rotary Club president (small club division) in 2012. She has been active in numerous organizations - Temple Terrace Junior Woman’s and Woman’s Clubs, Temple Terrace Arts Council, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Woodmont Clubhouse Board and Girl Scouts of America. She is a past president of the Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Temple Terrace and the Temple Terrace Garden Club. As a co-founder of the annual Art en Blanc and, most notably, Rotary’s Temple Terrace Craft BrewFest, she has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charity. Ms. Donohue also has been active in area schools, serving on the PTSA boards and on the boards of the University of Tampa and University of South Florida. She represents the City on the Affordable Housing Advisory Board of Hillsborough County, the Suncoast League of Cities and the Florida League of Cities Municipal Administration Policy Committee, where she has been named a Home Rule Hero. She and her husband have four grown children and nine grandchildren (five who live in Temple Terrace).
